- 10 a.m. to dusk, daily – Professional sand carvers, multi award-winning IB Posse, will transform a mountain of sand into a vibrant, living work of art that will take from Aug. 14-20 (approx.) After the castle is complete, it will be open for viewing for several days.

Sponsored by the IB Optimists and the Sun & Sea Festival Committee. This kids-only competition will be held in teams of five competitors, ages 5-12-years.
- 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. – Team check-in
- 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. — Kids-n-Kastles sand castle building competition
- 11:30 a.m. – Award ceremony with recognition given to First, Second and Third place teams in two categories Best Creature and Best Sandcastle
